Cerdded y Cwm is a friendly walking group/club based in the upper Neath Valley. We meet at 11 am every Tuesday at the Glynneath Training Centre, Oddfellows Street, Glynneath,  SA11 5DB, (there is a free public car park nearby).

We are extremely fortunate in that Glynneath is in close proximity to a variety of different walks. We have history, including industrial history, mountain, river and coastal scenery all on our doorstep. On Tuesdays our programme will take us to such places as Ystradfellte, Afan Argoed, Coelbren, Craig y Nos - all local walks. Every ten weeks or so we have a coach to take us walking further afield, Symonds Yat, Bosherston in Pembrokeshire, coastal walks at Laugharne Llanelli or the Gower.
On the first Saturday of each month we have a longer, more strenuous walk as there is now a demand from some of our more intrepid walkers and those unable to join us on a Tuesday.

There is no membership fee, walkers turn up and pay £1 which goes towards our bus trip and other expenses. We normally have an age range from 40 to 85 years, short walks and longer walks to meet your requirement and dogs are welcome.

CLUB HISTORY

Cerdded y Cwm began in 2010 from an initiative by the Ramblers' Cymru. This was the 'Communities on Foot' initiative to get people out walking on short walks in their localities. Glynneath Training Centre became a pilot. It was funded by The National Lottery and based at the Centre. Some two years later, Cerdded y Cwm became a fully constituted club. We still hold with the original idea of getting people out in their home area.
