Kelly Allen You’ve done the right thing Simon. You absolutely do not deserve to have this directed at you. The facts are the facts. As far as I can see from the many many posts by Mr Richards... there is a lot of complaining... but not much in the way of explaining what resolution and action is sought... far more productive to talk about solutions rather than banging on about the problem. It’s a reality of the environment where we live that heavy metals and certain toxins are a feature of our industrial landscape and heritage... folks who aren’t prepared to accept an element of that risk should probably choose to live elsewhere. Some folks chose to live in densely populated cities with air pollution and others live in areas of outstanding natural beauty with a history of mining or industry (neither of which necessarily caused a contamination issue)... nowhere is “perfect”... it’s a balancing act of what we are prepared to take on as our risk and is personal to us to a degree. My personal preference is clear air... with very low levels of airborne toxins and heavy metals... and being mindful of ground contamination if and when I need to deal with it. ���� |

Nick Thomas - I completely understand you blocking Mr Richards it is much more than unpleasant to have someone focused so negatively on you. I can see that both Glynneath and Neath councils have tried their best to reason with him, unfortunately he isn’t open to reasoned thought or temperate discussion. Hopefully you aren’t letting him upset you as he’s really only speaking for himself. | |

Patricia Bowen You don’t have to justify your actions when they are the right ones, to your own self be true. You can’t please everybody always and if statements in black and white aren’t accepted, so be it. Just a thought, at least you know his thoughts, far less dangerous than snakes in the grass. Keep up the good work and ignore the negatives. People are well impressed with your efforts |

Janet Collins Simon, unless you agree 100% with him, you are wrong. Your reputation, family and social media accounts will be pulled apart in a bid to undermine you and discredit you. This has happened to some of the people who have questioned his approach. I truly believe that he does not fully represent the group that he claims to speak for. No one who could demonstrate emphathy or care for others, would agree with his bullying approach. All you can do is report what you know is factually correct. GTC (which you are part of), asked that further soil tests were carried out at different levels - which was the request of the community group and residents. If something is found, it would be dealt with through the conditions imposed by NPT Council. It would be naive to think that land in South Wales would not contain any contaminants due to industrial historic works. I'm sorry that it has gone on for so long, and hope that the community continue to support you and engage with you, to develop our community. |
