If you live in Glynneath, this is why you need to be concerned.

Area 1: in red is an area of spoil heap within the testing area.
Area 2: in blue is soil removed from the spoil heap (Area 1) and spread over the ground to achieve an even gradient.
Area 3: in maroon is the area of spoil heap that was required to be tested prior to the approval of P2020/0863 in March of this year but is now free to be removed from the site and also moved towards the boundaries of the residents of Brynhyfryd to fill in the stream and create an even gradient.
Areas 1 and 2 were tested last October and found to have nearly 9 times above the safe level of contamination. What the council and NRW are saying is that because Cuddy's licence was for uncontaminated soil then the soil there is not contaminated. This includes areas 1 and 2 which were tested and found to be contaminated. Plans have been approved that say that the developer can move the soil in area 3 which is what Cuddy has tipped closer to the houses in Brynhyfryd and Woodland Park. Area 1 has found to be contaminated and the soil was tipped at the same time as area 3. Area 3 is also the area which residents have seen barrels potentially containing this toxic waste dumped. There is now a serious possibility that toxic waste is going to moved closer to our houses. Both Simon Knoyle and Del Morgan are supporting this along with some Glynneath Town Councillors. There is a history of rare neuro disorder deaths in Bryhyfryd and Glynneath Town Councillors are destroying this information to avoid the land being tested
thoroughlly and an official investigation launched into planning department corruption. Please share this information with other Glynneath residents and councillors, (not all are aware of this). We need to work to together to stop this land being moved closer to our houses. You only need to ask yourself 2 questions.
1 - Do you trust Cuddy not to tip toxic waste
2 - Do you trust the planning department at Neath Port Talbot Council.
If the answer to both is yes, do nothing, if the answer to one of them is No. start worrying now or do something to save yourself and your family from being
potentially affected by toxic waste.
