ACCOUNTABILITY

ARE NEATH-PORT TALBOT, THE COUNCIL OF DEATH?

32-contamination-marked.jpg (377419 bytes) 68.jpg (649826 bytes)

DUMPING 1940-2017 - Several residents of the area witnessed what they believe to be suspicious activity happening at the site while it was under the ownership of the Cuddy Group. This includes the presence of barrels believed to be of chemical waste.

Activities of the Cuddy Group included:

Tipping in the middle of the night / early morning, residents were woken regularly at 2.00 and 3.00am to the sound of lorries tipping waste.

Tipping into deep holes, special deep holes which were dug by machines and then waste was tipped into them and the holes were refilled.

The land was proven to be contaminated in 2008 and the test showed that around 65% of the soil at the site was contaminated, however some of the contamination may have been from the site's historical use as a council 'ash' tip, it is not known when exactly tipping commenced at the site but it is known that it was an actively being tipped on circa 1940.

PLANNING MISCONDUCT 2008-2010 - The Neath Port Talbot Council planning team have deliberately placed the lives of Glynneath residents at risk in 2010 by not following the laws and regulations relating to contaminated land. The planning department in 2010 hid the fact that the land at the Heol-y-Glyn site is contaminated with grade 1 classified carcinogens which breaches the Environmental Protection Act 1990. COUNCIL COVER UP - 2020 -

The council are covering up the fact that the planning department have broken regulations by refusing to investigate the actions of the planning department 2008-2010. This contravenes the both the regulations of the council and the purpose and values of Neath Port Talbot Council.

The following members of Neath Port Talbot Council have been made aware of this and they either continue to hide this council misconduct by committing misconduct/malpractice themselves or they are in a position to question the actions of the planning department by their elected representation and are refusing to communicate or do anything about it.
